Background and Educational Qualifications
Born and raised in Alvarado, Texas, Ms. Driver’s journey into the legal profession is grounded in her deep roots within the local community. After achieving academic excellence at Alvarado High School in 1987, she pursued her higher education at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. There, she earned dual bachelor’s degrees, one in history and another in political science.
Ms. Driver’s passion for serving her community led her to work with Habitat for Humanity in East Dallas immediately after graduating from Austin College. In 1992, she embarked on her legal education at St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated cum laude (among the top 10% of her class) in 1995.
During her time at St. Mary’s, Ms. Driver’s dedication and scholarly achievements were evident as she assumed the role of Executive Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. Her contributions to legal scholarship resulted in two published works: “25 St. Mary’s Law Journal 753” and “26 St. Mary’s Law Journal 203.” She was also a valued member of the John Harlen Society and the Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity.
Professional Experience
Following law school, from 1995 to 1997, Ms. Driver worked as a litigation associate for Cox & Smith, Inc. in San Antonio. Her practice areas included securities law and employment law. In 1997, driven by her desire to serve her hometown community, she returned to Alvarado and established her private practice.
Over the past 28 years, Ms. Driver has honed her expertise in family law, offering comprehensive services that benefit both adults and children. She is not only a respected family law attorney but also a skilled mediator, adept at finding amicable resolutions to complex family disputes. Additionally, she serves as an amicus attorney and attorney ad litem, passionately advocating for the rights and well-being of children in Johnson County.
